The International Dance Festival will be hosted by the Office of International Services with the following student organizations: Asian Students’ Alliance, Ballroom Club, Bollywood Brewers, HYPE, and the Vassar Haiti Project. Admission to the event is free, and the event will be hosted on the 2nd Floor of the Student's Building on Vassar's campus (UpC). Concessions will be provided, with all proceeds to be donated to the Nepali Earthquake Relief Fund. The event will run from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, with doors opening at 6:15 PM.
The first inaugural International Dance Festival was the brainchild of Office of International Services staff members Andrew Meade and Noura Hajjaj. “The vision was to create a space for students and community members to experience and share culture through the mediums of dance and music. With performances showcasing the diversity of the Mid-Hudson region and the world, Vassar students and community members come together to provide a wonderful showcase of talent and cultural appreciation. Some performances will allow for audience participation, by adults as well as children.
The Student’s Building is located just inside the north entrance to Vassar, which is off Collegeview Avenue. As you enter that gate, there is parking on your immediate right in the “North Parking Lot.” There will be balloons and volunteers to help direct the community to the entrance of the Student’s Building.
The event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome!
